 Harvey officers use a canine in the war on crime July 24, 2003 stands as pivotal day in the history of Harvey, Illinois. On this day, Mayor Eric J. Kellogg formally declared war on crime in the City.
Flanked by Chief of Police Andrew Joshua and several City Aldermen, Kellogg led more than 100 employees participating in an anti-crime crusade into the streets to knock on doors, gather information, identify possible problem areas and drug houses, talk to residents, spread the Mayor's message and put the criminals on notice.
