The City of Harvey welcomes you and is happy to assist you with the growth and development of your business.
The City of Harvey is a developer-friendly community looking forward to being an integral part of the expansion of your business.
The continued growth of our Commercial Corridor has allowed us to view our City as part of the foundation for economic development in the south suburban region.
The City can offer wonderful tax incentives to those businesses that qualify. The entire City of Harvey is an Enterprise Zone, and we have numerous districts. For more information on these programs, please visit the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
Forms You Will Need
In the downloadable New Business License Application packet, you will find information that will assist you with the various stages of business development in our City.
Listing this information ensures the City that your development parallels our Municipal Ordinances and development process, as well as the future development goals of the City.
In addition to the New Business License Application, those businesses wishing to apply for a liquor license must download and submit the Retailer's License Application.
Also in addition to the New Business License Application, your business or development may also require:
• Special Use/Re-zoning/Change of Use Petition packet
• Variance Petition packet
If you are a new Home Business, please download the Home Business Application. Please note: if you are a home business, this application is the only application you need to submit. You do not need to fill out the New Business License Application.
Once your development is ready for construction, a Building Permit must be obtained. Please apply, in person, at the Harvey Planning Department: 15320 Broadway Avenue Harvey, IL 60426.
All Contractors performing work within the City must also be licensed with the City of Harvey. If you are not already licensed, please download and submit a Contractor's License Application.
While it often appears that the role of City government is to inspect and regulate, we are deeply concerned that you feel welcome. We want to handle your project with courtesy and respect, as well as provide the necessary materials to make your development a success.
