In 2003 I promised the residents of Harvey that we would demolish Dixie Square. In 2010 Governor Quinn came to Harvey to announce his commitment to provide the funding to demolish Dixie Square. To that end, with patience, perseverance and practicality the time has finally come. The fence is up, the Governor is coming back out and the demolition is ready to begin!
I am very grateful to the phenomenal partnership with Governor Quinn, South Suburban Mayors & Managers, and local, state and federal elected officials that has brought this dream to fruition. TEAM WORK MADE THIS DREAM WORK!
